“SHERLOCK HOLMES” WORLD PREMIERE COVERAGE

Working on behalf of Warner Bros International, Moviebeat was given the task of ensuring a brief highlights piece from the event was made available for international distribution as quickly as possible. A 90 sec edit was cut from the CCTV footage on location at the premiere and was supplied to us on digi beta at 10.00pm. The piece was then captured, encoded to a range of appropriate online formats and uploaded to Warner Bros’ US servers within 75 minutes.

As the piece was designed to appeal to an international (non English language speaking) audience it featured an absolute bear minimum of talent sound bites and no clips from the film. Moviebeat cut an alternate lengthier edit for use by its UK & US content partners, combining select CCTV footage with trailer & EPK materials and Moviebeat’s own red carpet interviews, which focused far more on the film itself as opposed to the premiere per se.

THE BRITISH INDEPENDENT FILM AWARDS

Moviebeat worked closely with Raindance TV – principal organiser of The British Independent Film Awards – to create a punchy highlights piece from the event. Interviews with the nominees were conducted on the red carpet upon their arrival, and further interviews with the winners were conducted immediately after each award was presented. Key sound bites from these interviews were combined with footage from the ceremony itself to create a 3-4 min Raindance branded featurette, which was supplied to the client and also distributed to Moviebeat’s key content partners the following day.

“THE LOVELY BONES” WORLD PREMIERE

The Picture Production Company and Moviebeat worked for Paramount Pictures on the creation of assets for international online and broadcast use from the World Premiere & Royal Film Performance of “The Lovely Bones” in London.

Interviews focusing very much on the film itself (as opposed to the actual event) were conducted by a film crew on the red carpet. Select sound bites were combined with key shots from the CCTV footage and footage from the film to create a report from the event, which was edited, encoded for online use and delivered via a secure FTP site to all territories overnight.

“MODERN WARFARE 2: CALL OF DUTY” UK LAUNCH ACTIVITY

Moviebeat & The Picture Production Company worked very closely with Frank PR and Activision on the UK launch of the hugely anticipated video game “Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2”.

A premiere event for the release was held at The Vue West End, Leicester Square.
Moviebeat & The Picture Production Company were asked to produce 30+ trivia slides about the games series, which were shown in rotation on screen while the audience took their seats. The slides followed the look & feel of the graphics used in the game and other marketing assets, were created & rendered in Hi Def and delivered on Blu-Ray.

Moviebeat & The Picture Production Company were also asked to create a short featurette about the history of the “Call Of Duty” series, which was introduced from the stage by the host of the event before being shown on-screen. The production involved having a crew from PPC’s LA office shoot an introduction with key personnel from Infinity Ward (creators/developers of the game) at their offices, and shooting interviews with leading UK games journalists & experts in London. Select sound bites from the interviews were combined with in-game footage and trailers to illustrate the development of the game through its various versions, culminating in a preview of the eagerly awaited “Modern Warfare 2”.

Moviebeat also had film crews on the red carpet at the premiere event, at the exclusive after show party, and at the midnight store opening of the HMV Trocadero. Footage from all three events was used to create a 4-5 min highlights featurette which was completed by 5.00 am, encoded to a range of online formats, supplied to the client, and distributed by Moviebeat to all key UK portals, and many leading entertainment & games websites.

MOVIEBEAT CREATE OFFICIAL LONDON FILM FESTIVAL VODCASTS

Working on behalf of The British Film Institute, Moviebeat was once again responsible for the production of The Times BFI London Film Festival official daily vodcasts.

Throughout the festival Moviebeat had film crews in & around London’s Leicester Square, conducting red carpet interviews at the event’s many gala screenings. In addition we filmed the festival’s film-specific press conferences, many of the Filmmakers’ Teas, and select post-screening Q&As with various filmmakers and talent. Highlights of these events were combined with select footage from key events at The South Bank and other locations around the city to create a daily video update of 4-7 minutes, delivered to the client by lunchtime each day for use on the official Festival website.

In addition Moviebeat assisted with the online distribution of the daily vodcasts, supplying the edit in the appropriate encoded format to such key portals & websites as MSN, Yahoo, Tiscali, Microsoft Window Media Player Guide and The Hollywood Reporter.

MOVIEBEAT COVER “GI JOE” EUROPEAN PROMO ACTIVITY

Working with PPC Productions on behalf of Paramount Pictures International, Moviebeat covered and created edits from three promotional events from the film.

Director Stephen Sommers was interviewed on location in Paris, discussing one of the key action scenes from the film which is set on the streets of the French capital. Interview sound bites were intercut with exclusive footage from the chase scene and other EPK materials. The edit was cut overnight before being supplied as a range of encoded files to Paramount offices globally via a secure FTP site.

In London, following a mock battle on the river Thames, the director and stars of the film made a spectacular entrance at HMS Belfast, where red carpet style interviews were conducted on deck. A news story combining multiple camera footage of the river stunt and interview sound bites was cut later that day, with the edit supplied that night to Paramount offices globally via a secure FTP site.

Two versions of the edit were created, the first targeted non English speaking audiences and focused on the glamour and excitement of the event, with a minimum of sound bites from the talent. The second edit targeted English speaking audiences and relied far more on key sound bites from the talent. In addition, the client was supplied a broadcast compliant of the edit on digi beta for potential broadcast use.
